Mesaieed International School - General Update

As the main building for MIC International School may not be completed in time for the beginning of the academic year, MIC has made alternate plans to use the new Nursery building in order to commence classes as scheduled in September. The existing Nursery will also continue to be utilized, with the two facilities projected to be quite adequate for the number of students who have completed the application procedure.

Although these temporary measures will be more than acceptable for normal teaching purposes, parents of students currently applying should be aware that there will be some disruption and uncertainty for all age groups in the first few months of the new school's operation. In addition, and more importantly, parents of children in Year 10 and above needing to start external examination courses should be aware of the following:
  • With no specialist rooms (Science, DT, IT, Art, Library) or PE facilities, course options for Year 10 and above will necessarily be severely limited, with some subjects not available in this initial phase
  • Without the specialist rooms and associated facilities we will not be able to gain the accreditation necessary for GCSE and 'A' Level courses until later than expected. This delay may affect our options with regard to our scheduling of courses leading to external examinations
Parents of children in this category are encouraged to contact the school start-up office for further clarification, and to discuss their children’s circumstances on an individual basis.
