Health, Safety and Risk

The Health, Safety, and Risk Department’s main objective is to promote a pro-active approach to health and safety, and encourage all personnel to participate actively in the development of its occupational health and safety programs. The department is responsible for preventing injury, ill health, damage, and property loss arising from activities within Mesaieed Industrial City’s Common Areas and is comprised of the following divisions:
  • Risk Assessment – risk evaluation of new investors’ industries with consideration to existing industries;
  • Emergency Planning – compiling and updating emergency and contingency plans;
  • Procedures – compiling and applying procedures related to working safely and building safety and fire standards;
  • Training – employees and contractors are trained in safe procedures to ensure a safe environment;
  • Auditing, – fire and safety auditing in the MIC Community which includes contractor accommodation; projects; industries; and Mesaieed Port;
  • Fire department – operational and fire prevention divisions currently being established to supplement the services of the Civil Defence and the Industries' emergency services.
