- Environmental Laboratory

MIC created an environmental laboratory to cater for the task for environmental monitoring mandate and to complement the Marine and Groundwater Testing projects (mentioned earlier). The laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment that is needed for testing of liquid samples at the time being. It also complement the work being done in monitoring the Sewage Treatment Plant in MIC by testing random samples taken from the plant to enhance the work of micro-organisms used to biologically treat the sewage.

Environmental Laboratory

MIC's Environmental Laboratory is not as large in size as MICís commercial companiesí laboratories but it include all the required equipment for the time being in association with its work force and its scope. It is envisaged that the laboratory will increase its working scope to include testing and monitoring of seawater samples from the outfall from different companies in MIC to monitor the amount of pollution (if any) being dispersed in the sea opposite to those companies.

Air Quality Monitoring Stations

These stations have one target and that is to monitor continuously the composition of the air and assess its quality. The stations are located in two (2) strategic areas within MIC. They are serviced regularly according to yearly contract that gives the required vital maintenance to the sensitive equipment it houses. Each station gives real-time data that is analyzed and produced as information for any regulatory authority.
