The MIC Directorate is made up of 6 functional Departments; each headed by a Manager and segmented into Divisions. Business & Investors Department Divisions: Investor & Development Planning Business Services Business Systems Promotes MIC as a preferred location for investment; supports and oversees investor activity from inception to start of construction by providing a quality one-stop-shop service. This includes economic reviews; business analysis; and benchmarking activities to ensure continuous improvement in services. Port Department Divisions: Marine Operations Port Services Marine Maintenance Port Regulations Provides vessel traffic control, ship piloting and mooring and shipping and agency services for visiting vessels; and marine maintenance, vessel inspection and security controls for the port facility. Infrastructure Department Divisions: Maintenance Projects Site Services Manages infrastructure & development projects as well as ongoing infrastructure and civil maintenance activity for all MIC areas of responsibility. Provides technical site support to all MIC industries and end users. Environment & Waste Management Department Divisions Environmental Planning Environmental Monitoring Hazardous Waste Non-Hazardous Waste Plans and monitors all environmental activities related to the Mesaieed region. Manages the national hazardous waste treatment plant and the domestic wastewater treatment plant. Provides for the disposal of all waste and is responsible for the management of MIC landfills. Facilities Department Divisions Public and Community Affairs Facilities, Clubs and Recreation Industrial Security Provides general services (facilities) for the industrial, port and community areas of MIC. Manages MIC facilities such as housing, offices, parks, recreation, and shopping/commercial areas. Ensures security at all MIC main entry gates, issues and controls gate passes and in addition carries out patrolling within the MIC industrial area. Provides public relations function for MIC and is MIC’s link to the community and its residents. Health, Safety & Risk Department Divisions Fire Division Occupational Health Safety Training Provides safety monitoring, auditing and implementation of safety policies, standards and safe working practices. Investigates accidents, provides Safety Training and is responsible for Fire fighting response and emergency coordination within the MIC area.
