| The Qatar Petroleum acquired the Facility in 1987 from Umm-Said Industrial Development Corporation (USIDC) to meet the immediate requirement of a recreation facility for the ELS employees residing at Mesaieed.
The Facilities department manages the club operations. The Facilities Manager, who is the asset holder, directly appoints a managing committee comprising of chairman, secretary and treasurer. The committee then elects the working committee by conducting an election within the club members. The committee plays a very active role in organizing the events and sport
 competitions, cultural shows, Art and Cookery competitions, Picnics, Beach Cleaning Drives and several other social events to entertain the club members and their families. The committee liaises with the club management for organizing functions, sports competitions and other social and outdoor events.
